Pilot Knobs Cemetery, also referred to as the Clarke Cemetery, is the oldest Necropolis in Grayson County. Originally much larger (approx. 10 acres) it is believed the majority of the cemetery lies under the nearby apartments and roadbed. Only one marker of the Clarke descendants for which the cemetery is named still stands today.

Overview of the glade that is Pilot Knobs

We discovered this as a result of a tip received from a Denison homeowner who's home we had stopped to photograph. Unmarked and well-concealed, Pilot Knobs Cemetery is one of the best-kept secrets in the annals of Texas Cemeteries.
